Install & get started
TeachFlow is 32 plain-text instruction files, not an installed program. Here is how to put the six skills in place, confirm they loaded, and prepare your first unit.
Install the six skills
- The package is not a program you run: it is 32 plain-text instruction files, and installing means putting six folders where your AI tool looks for skills.
- Use whichever AI tool you already have. Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor and Google Gemini CLI are all supported, and one of them is enough — you do not need all four.
- You download six zip files, one per skill. Unzip each of them: every zip opens into a single folder named after its skill — lesson-workflow, worksheet-workflow, ppt-workflow, word-workflow, audio-workflow and report-workflow.
- Copy those six folders into the location for your tool, keeping each one whole — SKILL.md, its references folder, and the README, licence and security notice that sit beside them.
- You can also let your agent do it: point it at the unzipped folder and ask it to install the six skills, and it will place them correctly.
- If the six do not show up, fully quit the AI tool and start it again. Claude Code and Codex normally pick up new skills on their own; a restart is the fix when they do not.
- On Google Gemini CLI you can run /skills reload instead of restarting.
Where the six folders go
-
Claude Code
.claude/skills -
Codex CLI
.agents/skills -
Cursor
.cursor/skills -
Google Gemini CLI
.gemini/skills
All four paths sit in your home directory, and you only need the one for the tool you use. Cursor also reads .claude/skills, so if you have already put the six folders there you do not need a second copy. Once they are in place you can delete the unzipped folders entirely — installing changes no system settings.
Check that they loaded
Open the skill list in your tool. You should see six entries:
-
Claude Code
/ -
Codex CLI
$ -
Google Gemini CLI
/skills list
Prepare your first unit
- Create a folder for one textbook unit.
- Put the pages of the unit in it, plus the teacher’s guide if you have one.
- Ask for what you want in plain language. For example: "Prepare a lesson from the attached Unit 5 textbook — 2nd-year middle school, 45-minute periods, split into 3 periods, students at roughly A2."
- You do not need to name a skill. lesson-workflow picks the request up on its own and the other five follow it.
